Peter van Houten
In 1980, Peter joined GBS Wang as a systems engineer, after studying electrical engineering at UCT and completing national service in the SA Navy. At GBS, he was responsible for large corporate accounts including Old Mutual, Regional Services Council, SA Government, Groote Schuur Chemical Pathology and SA Medical Research Council.
After starting Atlantic Digital in 1992, he designed and installed some of the first Local Area Networks in Cape Town for Waltons, Regional Services Council, UCT Medical School and Bellville Municipality. He established Atlantic Digital as the preferred hardware and software supplier and introduced Microsoft Windows and the internet to many Cape Town clients.
Peter joined the Monex Group (now Century City Ltd.) as Group IT Manager in 1996 and designed and built the IT infrastructure for Ratanga Junction and several Century City office buildings, in partnership with local networking vendors. He consulted locally and overseas for best-fit technologies including structured wiring systems, fibre-optic cabling, operating systems, access control, audio and video reticulation, backup power supplies, telephony and systems management.
In 2003, Peter worked on contract in London in corporate IT and card-based cashless payment systems before returning to South Africa in 2006.
Margi Bezuidenhout
In 1984, Margi started her career in shopping centre administration after joining Monex with the development of Tyger Valley in Durbanville, Cape Town, where she managed the development account in phase one and phase two. Thereafter, she worked full time for Tyger Valley in the design of the property management system. She managed the full aspect of the administration of the centre for nine years, which included all of the leasing and financial functions.
In 1995 she re-joined Monex and managed Pier 14 Shopping Centre, Cleary Park Shopping Centre, Maynard Mall, The Atrium and Brackenfell Mall. From the initial construction until 2002 she implemented financial management systems for Canal Walk Shopping Centre at Century City, as well as all the office blocks owned by Monex (now Century City Ltd.)
In 2006, Peter and Margi partnered to launch Atlantic Digital IT and Accounting services
